If your phone does not connect to a 5G network even though it supports 5G, 5G service may not be included in your data plan . You can use the service only if you are subscribed to a 5G data plan serviced by a network provider. Check with your carrier to make sure you have the correct data plan.

If you don’t see 5G in the status bar Make sure that you’re in an area with 5G coverage . Contact your carrier if you’re not sure. Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options. If you see this screen, your device has 5G activated.
