Who created GitLab?

GitLab’s co-founder Dmitriy Zaporozhets needed a great tool to collaborate with his team. He wanted something efficient and enjoyable so he could focus on his work, not the tools. He created GitLab from his house in Ukraine.

GitLab is an open core company which develops software for the software development lifecycle with 30 million estimated registered users and more than 1 million active license users, and has an active community of more than 2,500 contributors.

Similar to GitHub, GitLab is a repository manager which lets teams collaborate on code . Written in Ruby and Go, GitLab offers some similar features for issue tracking and project management as GitHub.
