What wave is used for VHF?

Space wave propagation mode is used for the transmission of VHF and UHF because UHF and VHF can neither be propagated through Ground waves (due to high absorption in the atmosphere) nor via Sky waves (due to non reflection of the ionosphere).

VHF, in full very high frequency, conventionally defined portion of the electromagnetic spectrum including any radiation with a wavelength between 1 and 10 metres and a frequency between 300 and 30 megahertz . VHF signals are widely employed for television and radio transmissions.

VHF includes radio waves from 30 MHz to 300 MHz . VHF waves must not exceed the local radio horizon of 100 miles. VHF frequencies are less likely to be interrupted by atmospheric noise, issues with electrical equipment, and other interferences.21 Eyl 2015
