What is the best ping for games?

Windows: Open up command prompt by either searching for cmd or typing cmd into run. Once open, type “ping” followed by your servers IP without the port. Press enter and this will make 4 ping requests to your server with the response time. A ping between 1 and 80 is fine and would not effect your game play.

A good ping for gaming is around 40ms to 60ms, or even lower . For reference, if your ping has a speed over 100ms, it will have an obvious delay. And if you have a 10ms ping, playing on your chosen game will feel like a smoother experience, and a faster one, in comparison to a 100ms ping.

Go to the game settings and look for an option like “display performance stats” or “display network options.” Note: the wording may vary game to game. This in game ping test will give you the most accurate measure of network performance for the specific game and server you are playing on.
