Small cells are discreet, fiber-connected antennas, usually located on existing structures like streetlights and utility poles . They work in conjunction with tower infrastructure to provide greater wireless coverage and capacity.

Each small cell installation requires three simple things: power; backhaul—fiber optic cable or microwave for transmission to the core network —and a permitted space for installation. Small cells are unobtrusive and can be installed in just a couple of hours.
