What is LoRaWAN module?

LoRa (LoRaWAN) Features LoRaWAN uses the unlicensed band signals of the sub-gigahertz band that does not require a license (around 900 MHz. 920 MHz in Japan), and its maximum packet size is 256 bytes and its speed is 200 to 10 kbps.

LoRa is the physical layer or modulation technique used for long-range, low-power communications links. LoRaWAN is a communication protocol and network architecture that sits on top of the LoRa physical layer.

LoRa is based on chirp spread spectrum modulation, which has low power characteristics like FSK modulation but can be used for long range communications. LoRa can be used to connect sensors, gateways, machines, devices, animals, people etc. wirelessly to the cloud .

LoRaWAN Gateways are the bridge between End Nodes and the Network . To receive information from the End Nodes, gateways are equipped with a LoRa concentrator and can, in essence, be considered as a router of sorts.
