What is inheritance

It allows us to create a new class (derived class) from an existing class (base class) . The derived class inherits the features from the base class and can have additional features of its own. For instance, we are humans. We inherit certain properties from the class ‘Human’ such as the ability to speak, breathe, eat, drink, etc . We can also take the example of cars. The class ‘Car’ inherits its properties from the class ‘Automobiles’ which inherits some of its properties from another class ‘Vehicles’.

There are different types of inheritance viz., Single inheritance, Multiple inheritance, Multilevel inheritance, hybrid inheritance, and hierarchical inheritance . Single Inheritance: When a derived class inherits only from one base class, it is known as single inheritance.
