Optus is in the process of building out its next generation mobile network, with coverage already available across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia, and Tasmania. Optus currently has over 1,000 live 5G sites that cover over 1.2 million homes.

Around 150 suburbs in Melbourne and 90 regional suburbs across Albury-Wodonga, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Horsham, Mildura and Warrnambool now enjoy more than 50 per cent coverage from Telstra 5G.
