What are classes and methods in Python?

a class describes the contents of the objects that belong to it: it describes an aggregate of data fields (called instance variables), and defines the operations (called methods) .

Python classes provide all the standard features of Object Oriented Programming: the class inheritance mechanism allows multiple base classes, a derived class can override any methods of its base class or classes, and a method can call the method of a base class with the same name.

A method is on an object or is static in class. A function is independent of any object (and outside of any class) . For Java and C#, there are only methods.
