Global computer usage produces twice the greenhouse gases as the aviation industry , new analysis suggests. Figures from Lancaster University reveal emissions from computing account for almost four per cent of all greenhouse gases spewed into the atmosphere, compared to two per cent for air travel.

In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, internet use accounts for 3.7% of global emissions , i.e. the equivalent of all air traffic in the world. And this figure is expected to double by 2025 (excluding the Covid-19 effect).
Read moreHow do computers contribute to Global Warming?
The term ‘Global Warming’ refers to the rising temperature of the earth due to an increased amount of greenhouse gases. The green house gases increased due to excess and non-efficient use of computers. The computer spews Tons of CO2 .
Read moreDoes computer use have an effect on climate change?
Computers add to the strain on power plants to produce enough energy to power the world. The production of energy creates pollution and emissions . The amount of electricity needed to power computers contributes to the millions of tons of greenhouse gases that are emitted into the atmosphere each year.
Read moreDoes technology cause Global Warming?
modern technology emits huge amounts of carbon dioxide, generating global warming . are operated by fossil fuel. less natural resources, including energy, producing less a negative impact to the environment.
Read moreAre computers bad for environment?
Computers contain heavy metals , such as lead and toxic chemicals that pollute the soil and contaminate groundwater. Run-off from landfills contaminates drinking water and water used for bathing, which exposes people to dangerous chemicals. Smart homes have systems that can reduce the amount of power used at home.
