Sky Q has been designed to support 5GHz when connecting to a Sky broadband router. With your Truespeed router, the Sky Q box needs to be connected to the 2.4GHz service used by TrueSpeed-XXXX.

Re: Split 2g and 5g – Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit apply. – Then on any wireless device you should now see two networks. One network will be the same name as usual and will be 2.4GHz band and the other will be the usual name with 5G on the end (Or whatever you typed).

To split 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, all you have to do is turn off a feature called “Smart Connect” . Smart Connect feature combines the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under a single SSID and lets the Mercku router decide which band to use with your particular device.

Option 2: Combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one SSID A decent rule of thumb is that newer, higher-quality devices tend to have better band-steering protocols. If that describes your setup, combining into one SSID will probably give you good performance without the need to manually switch .
