In this story, I will explain the process of short-selling with Binance exchange.

The long-short ratio represents the amount of a security available for short selling versus the amount actually borrowed and sold . The long-short ratio is considered a barometer of investor expectations, with a high long-short ratio indicating positive investor expectations.

This means you can open an initial position (long or short) according to your analysis , while simultaneously placing buy-limit and sell-limit orders at predetermined intervals to capitalize on market volatility and ranging conditions.

The margin ratio is calculated as maintenance margin divided by margin balance . Therefore, if your margin balance drops below the maintenance margin rate – the exchange will liquidate your positions. In case of a price drop, please ensure that you have enough margin balance in your futures account.

Long Account % = Accounts of top traders with net long positions / Total accounts of top traders with open positions. Short Account % = Accounts of top traders with net short positions / Total accounts of top traders with open positions. Long/Short Ratio (Accounts) = Long Account % / Short Account %
