Malwarebytes (formerly Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, abbreviated as MBAM) is an anti-malware software for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Android, and iOS that finds and removes malware. Made by Malwarebytes Corporation, it was first released in January 2006.

Malwarebytes is a great app for protecting your Android device . However, if you find this tool taking up too much of your devices resources, Jack Wallen has the solution. No platform is completely immune to malware — not even Android. To this end, I always recommend protection.

The malware installs a fake Malwarebytes program to “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Malwarebytes” and hides a majority of the malicious payload inside one of the two dlls, Qt5Help. dll. The malware notifies victims that Malwarebytes was successfully installed, which is not true, as the program cannot be opened.
