LTE channels

Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) : The PDCCH carries information known as the Downlink Control Information or DCI . It carries the control information for a particular UE or group of UEs. Transport channels provide for information transfer between the physical layer and the medium access control (MAC) layer in the three layer structure illustrated in Figure 1. Figure 1. Layers. The following downlink transport channels are defined: Broadcast channel (BCH)

Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) Informs the UE about the resource allocation of PCH and DL-SCH, and HARQ information related to DL-SCH . Carries the uplink scheduling grant.

In GSM, these channels are separated into physical channels and logical channels. The Physical channels are determined by the timeslot, whereas the logical channels are determined by the information carried within the physical channel .
