On April 2nd 2019, we updated the Get Verified page so that it no longer shows the personal information that was submitted during verification. This is a security design feature in case your account ever becomes compromised (see our ‘Securing your account’ guide).

If the email account registered to your Kraken account is compromised, it can be used to request your username, reset your password and approve withdrawals . Note: We strongly recommend setting up an email account that you only use for Kraken.

Trustability. Kraken asserts it has “industry-leading security” and that “safeguarding your funds and your privacy” is its primary objective. In point of fact, despite being one of the oldest crypto exchanges, Kraken has managed to keep its clients’ funds secure without ever reporting a security breach .

Gox hacks. Kraken has never been hacked . It keeps most of its currency offline. It also offers users two-factor authenticationfor their accounts.
