AT&T shut down its 3G network in the United States on 22 February —a process called “sunsetting.” It’s the first of the three major carriers in the country to do so. T-Mobile will be shutting down its 3G network on 1 July, while Verizon has announced it will be doing the same on 31 December.

Canadian carriers have issued a delayed approach to the 3G sunset, allowing more time to make the transition. The listed dates are being rumoured in the market, however, Canadian carriers are hinting the shutdown may happen earlier .7 Oca 2022

Major mobile carriers will be shutting down their 3G networks in 2022 , rendering older phones useless. The retirement of the 3G network is to make room for more advanced networks, like 5G, which is much faster.

T-Mobile will finish shutting down Sprint’s 3G network, also known as CDMA, on March. 31, 2022 , and retire Sprint’s LTE network by June 30, 2022.
