Is Decentraland like Minecraft?

Decentraland is a user-owned, Ethereum-based virtual world where you can play, explore, and interact with games and activities. You can also purchase parcels of land on which to build your own environments, marketplaces, and applications.

Decentraland is built on web-based, 3D rendering software which has been written in a way that allows for interactions on the blockchain. The code for VR is not available for download on any existing headsets . Therefore gameplay is restricted to only Windows PC or MacOS devices.

As a “decentralized virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain,” Decentraland is the poster child for VR in Web 3.0. While it might resemble an economized Roblox or trippy Minecraft , Decentraland has more substance than pure crypto hype.
