As of Jan. 2020, 5G had been deployed in 50 cities in the United States . Sprint has rolled out mobile 5G in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Kansas City, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington, D.C. AT&T has made its mobile 5G+ network live for consumers in parts of 35 cities and 190 markets.

The main disadvantage of 5G is that it has limited global coverage and is available only in specific locations . Only cities can benefit a lot from 5G network and remote areas may not get the coverage it for some years. Moreover, the expenses for setting tower stations are high when compared to other networks.

After months of waiting, 5G is available to consumers in Australia, but only in selected areas . Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and SpinTel customers can each access both 5G mobile and 5G internet, with 5G home broadband also available from TPG, iiNet and Internode.
