Is 2021 the year of 5G?

Ericsson today says it won a new $8.3 billion 5G deal with Verizon that mainly focuses on radio access network (RAN) equipment.

In a separate accounting, the report showed that Huawei was leading the pack with over 4,500 5G-related patents filed around the world, with Qualcomm in third place and behind LG.

2021 was a crucial year for the acceleration of 5G , following the initial network launches in 2019 and 2020. There is even more news in store for us in 2022 as the 5G landscape continues to evolve. AT&T, and Verizon will launch their C-BAND spectrum this year, bought collectively for $68.8 billion in 2021.
