How many countries have 5G installed?

All major carriers now have nationwide 5G deployments covering at least 200 million people , with T-Mobile in the lead covering over 310 million people with its low-band network. AT&T’s low-band version now covers over 255 million people while Verizon has a low-band network that covers around 230 million.

Commercial 5G is now available in 1.336 cities in 61 countries across the world, equal to an increase of 350% on 2020 data, when there were just 376 cities which possessed this technology.

T-Mobile in the USA has launched 5G standalone nationwide using spectrum at 600 MHz, RAIN has launched 5G SA in parts of Cape Town in South Africa to support 5G FWA services and DIRECTV in Colombia has launched 5G SA for FWA in parts of Bogota. China Mobile Hong Kong announced the launch of 5G SA in late 2020.
