Elective courses in high school

In 11th grade social studies, students are usually taught U.S. History II or World History (depending on preference, state requirements and academic level).

The first institution labeled as a “high school” was Edinburgh’s Royal High School in Scotland , which was founded in 1128. The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, Boston Latin School, founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 1635.

You can satisfy the American History requirement for graduation by completing any of the following classes; AP US History (11th or 12th grade ), American Studies (10th or 11th), American Society –Block (10th only), or U.S. History Traditional (11th only).

The high school history curriculum consists of three different sections, American History, World History, and European History . However, the European History class is not mandatory and makes up for the AP class. Amongst the other AP history class, there is AP World History and AP U.S. history.19 Nis 2021
