Do microwaves have low or high frequency

When you increase the total energy in a beam of light, one of two things can happen. It can get a higher frequency, which leads to a shorter wavelength ; this is the effect that is causing you confusion, because microwaves have a longer wavelength than visible light.

Radio waves, microwaves and infrared have lower frequency than visible light . Shorter wavelength: Ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma rays have a shorter wavelength than visible light.

Microwaves are at the higher frequency end of the radio wave band and low frequency radio waves are at the lower frequency end.
