Do I have to upgrade my alarm system to 5G?

Less than 1% of our mobile data traffic was running on the 3G network. That’s why we’ve retired our 3G network, just as we retired our 2G wireless network in January 2017. We announced the eventual sunset of our 3G network in 2019 and just ended 3G service on February 22, 2022 .

ADT has been preparing for this transition for years, and we have converted nearly all of our customers’ systems which use 3G/CDMA radios .

If the module only has one antenna, then it is 3G and should be replaced. Additionally, the bare minimum firmware requirement for the 2GIG Go! Control or GC2 would be firmware 1.17. If your panel’s firmware is below 1.17, the module inside is 3G.
