DO 3G networks still exist?

Major mobile carriers will be shutting down 3G networks in 2022 starting with AT&T , which will make the change Tuesday. The switch will make some older phones and devices useless but will make way for more advanced services, including 5G.

3G is the third generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology . It was the upgrade over 2G, 2.5G, GPRS and 2.75G EDGE networks, offering faster data transfer, and better voice quality. This network was superseded by 4G, and later on 5G.

Another difference between 3G and WiFi networks is in their speeds. Typically, WiFi provides a much faster connection speed than 3G . Because in most cases, there are only a few people using a WiFi network compared to a 3G network that is used by hundreds if not thousands of people in the locality.
