Can you separate 2.4 GHz and 5GHz?

Sky Q has been designed to support 5GHz when connecting to a Sky broadband router. With your Truespeed router, the Sky Q box needs to be connected to the 2.4GHz service used by TrueSpeed-XXXX.

To split 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, all you have to do is turn off a feature called “Smart Connect” . Smart Connect feature combines the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under a single SSID and lets the Mercku router decide which band to use with your particular device.

Option 2: Combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one SSID A decent rule of thumb is that newer, higher-quality devices tend to have better band-steering protocols. If that describes your setup, combining into one SSID will probably give you good performance without the need to manually switch .
