Scavs are both AI and player controlled characters . All locations begin with Scavs already populating them, and more will arrive in waves throughout the duration of a raid. During some of these spawn waves, player controlled Scavs will join the match.

A sizable percentage of players also opted for a FoV value around 60-65 . I recommend trying 59 as it is equal to 90 horizontal field of view, which is the standard in several online games. 63 is considered the sweet spot for many players.

You can scav in the same map and time with your friends to try and get back the loot you have seen on the map. After entering the game as a Scav, you will see the lobby code on the lower left. If it is the same, you are in the same game as a Scav when you died as a PMC.
