BT 5G coverage

Ofcom reckons around half of the UK population is now covered by 5G, sort of. UK comms regulator Ofcom says the number of 5G base stations in the UK doubled in 2021, and coverage is now ‘outside 42-57 percent of premises. ‘

The results show that we were the best network in 15 of the 16 major metropolitan areas tested and had the fastest overall speeds in all of those areas. RootMetrics found that EE was the UK’s best network for speed, reliability and 5G coverage.

As of June 2020, they have 5G in 80 cities and towns including Bristol, Coventry, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield .
