AC voltage frequency

Frequency is the number of cycles that a voltage waveform repeats itself per seconds . A voltage with 0 frequency in effect is steady at a certain value which is also known as DC voltage.

In electrical engineering, the term frequency is used to denote the number of cycles per second of alternating current (a.c) . The value of voltage in a.c. varies with time, at a fixed rate. For example, at 50 Hz, the voltage increases from zero to Vmax and then reduces way down to -Vmax, 50 times per second.7 Ağu 2017

Electrical frequency is the measure of the rate of that oscillation and is measured in the number of changes per second – also called hertz (Hz). A generator running at 3,000 rpm, with two magnetic poles, produces electricity at a frequency of 50Hz.
