700 MHz 5G band

Now operators need to decide if the band is used for 4G LTE or to provide a coverage layer for 5G. 700 MHz spectrum is ideal for building cost-efficient 5G coverage for the long term, and maybe the only low band available . Taking into account the 5G ecosystem development, the impact of 5G will not realise immediately.

The 700 MHz frequency band consists of radio spectrum in the range 694-790 MHz . It is part of the wider ultra-high frequency (UHF) band, currently used throughout Europe for terrestrial broadcasting.

The majority of commercial 5G networks are relying on spectrum in the 3.5 GHz range (3.3 GHz-4.2 GHz) .
