T-Mobile can keep telling consumers that its 5G service is faster than 4G and offers more coverage than rivals’ 5G, but the National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs recommends that it stop claims that its 5G network is more reliable than competitors’ 4G or 5G networks.

T-Mobile’s network delivered median speeds around 47Mbps, while Verizon achieved median speeds of just 44Mbps. Speedcheck found that 5G networks provided, on average, download speeds that were about 2.7 times faster than 4G LTE networks , with peak speeds about six-fold faster than the previous generation network.28 Şub 2021

T-Mobile’s median 5G download speeds were similar to 4G speeds, with the fastest in Chicago at a mere 34 Mbps, and slower than Verizon’s 4G LTE across all five cities .

In theory, 5G is likely to reach speeds that are 20 times faster than 4G LTE 1. 4G LTE has a peak speed of 1GB per second; 5G could theoretically achieve speeds of 20GB per second. These are of course what you might call ‘peak speeds’, we’ll just have to see when 5G is rolled out what the real-world performance is like.
