Indian telecommunications firm Reliance Jio confirmed that it has completed the 5G coverage planning for 1,000 cities across the country. This coverage planning will enable the operator to roll out 5G services quickly once the government awards 5G spectrum later this year.

Jio has completed 5G network coverage planning for top 1,000 cities in the country and is augmenting its fibre capacity as well as running pilot across sites, a senior company official said during a presentation.

DoT confirmed in a press release that 5G services will be available in up to 13 cities across the country in 2022 , including Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Gandhi Nagar.29 Ara 2021
