In laymans terms, the difference between 4G and LTE is that 4G is faster than LTE . The reason for this is that 4G meets the technical standards designated for it whereas LTE data transfer speed standard is merely a stopgap measure standard devised until actual 4G speed is realized.17 Eyl 2019

So the reason your phone says LTE is because you are in an area that has the fastest internet speeds . When you are in an area in which your phone says “4g” it’s because you are using a cell phone tower that has the slower, HSPA, internet speed.

LTE+ is LTE Advanced (meaning multiple cells, currently almost exclusively 2, and typically is deployed with up to 300/100 or even 600+ mbps). the real advantage doesn’t lie in the max speed (first it’s rarely achieved, second 150 is pretty fast anyway), it lies in the reliability of your speed.30 Oca 2018
