Is 3G good enough? If you do the above activities primarily while connected to a Wi-fi network, you can probably be just fine with a 3G mobile device/service . If you use your phone mostly to talk and text and only occasionally stream video or music while on the mobile network, 3G will probably work well for you.

According to digital trends, 3G can reach network speeds of 7.2 mbps , 4G can reach network speeds of 150 mbps and 5G will eventually reach speeds in excess of 1gbps (with a theoretical maximum of 20gbps!)

It would take over 2 hours to download on 3G. 5G reduces the time it would take to 35 seconds . 4G boasts peak speeds clocking in at 150Mbps upload and 50Mbps download speeds. These are vast improvements over 3G, yet the full promise of 4G has never been realized.4 May 2021

5G benefits 5G has the capability of Low-band (<1GHz), Mid-band (<6GHz), and High-band spectrum (>6GHz). Higher frequencies can move more significant amounts of data faster. In theory, the peak speeds of 5G will be 20 times faster than the theoretical peak speed of 4G (20Gbps on 5G vs. 1Gbps on 4G).4 May 2021

In theory, 5G is likely to reach speeds that are 20 times faster than 4G LTE 1. 4G LTE has a peak speed of 1GB per second; 5G could theoretically achieve speeds of 20GB per second. These are of course what you might call ‘peak speeds’, we’ll just have to see when 5G is rolled out what the real-world performance is like.

The key difference between 4G and 5G is speed — 5G is expected to be much faster than 4G while offering lower latency and better bandwidth . The cellular infrastructure that enables wireless communication gets upgraded roughly every 10 years. Currently, 5G is slowly replacing 4G around the world.

1G, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G are the five generations of mobile networks where G stands for Generation, and the number denotes the generation number. 5G is the latest generation, whereas 1G networks are now obsolete . The cellular technologies GSM, UMTS, LTE and NR enable 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G, respectively.
