OrangeHRM was founded by Sujee Saparamadu in 2005 and offers two products, namely the OrangeHRM Starter and Advanced. The Starter version is a free and open-source software released under the GNU General Public License while the advanced version is a paid offering for SMEs and large scale enterprises .
