GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) is a radio access network architecture, based on GSM/EDGE radio access technologies . The GERAN is fully harmonised with the UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) through a common connectivity to the UMTS core network.
